Due to COVID Safety Precautions our Adult Education programs will continue with Distance Learning until further notice.
Our "current" students who were actively participating in Hesperia Adult School programs from March 2020 - May 2020 were automatically enrolled in the same courses for Fall 2020 classes. Current and active Adult Ed students enrolled in programs in December 2020 will be given the opportunity to reenroll for January 2021 classes. Check your email for information and details. Questions? "New" students applying to enter our program or "dropped" students who would like to return to Hesperia Adult School will need to reapply to the program by completing the Enrollment application at the top of this page. Students will be placed into classes as seats are available.
High School Diploma students must obtain "sealed official" transcripts from previous schools attended for transcript evaluation and enrollment. Adults ages 18 and older can earn a High School Diploma by completing standard coursework as required by the California Department of Education. Adult Education High School Diploma classes are free. Online enrollment form is at the top of this page.
GED Preparation, English As A Second Language or Citizenship Preparation classes do not require transcripts. GED, ESL and Citizenship Prep classes are free. Online enrollment form is at the top of this page.
Instructors are credentialed teachers who are registered and approved by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
Hesperia Adult School has successfully provided a variety of on campus, online, independent study and distance learning educational programs for many years. During Distance Learning our adult students will utilize their personal devices to interact with their instructors during live sessions, will complete program materials, review and utilize their textbooks and workbooks, complete projects and supplemental resources. Online learning resources such as Odysseyware, Nextgen Aztec, GED Flash and/or Side by Side Interactive Activities will be active by using issued usernames and passwords. While Distance Learning our teachers will be in contact with their students during scheduled live class sessions each week to provide distance learning opportunities to include virtual sessions such as Zoom, Google Classroom, Google Hangouts, and will be in contact via email and conference calls. Student support appointments may be scheduled.
Pearson Vue (GED and Industry Testing) and Adult Education CASAS testing sessions (Assessments, Pre Test and Post Testing) will be completed by prescheduled appointment following all implemented health and safety guidelines.

Our regional Adult Education Gradation ceremony has been postponed until we are able to celebrate all of our students accomplishments together. The ceremony will be held at Victor Valley College when social distancing restrictions are reduced.

GED Preparation classes are designed to help students prepare for the State of California GED Exam.

Course of Study
Live GED Prep offers scheduled instructor led classes that focus on improving skills in GED English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies.
During distance learning students will utilize their personal devices to access scheduled live Zoom sessions.
A GED Prep study guide will be provided to each student covering all subject areas of the GED exam.
Students have the opportunity to complete a GED Practice Test during as part of the class.
GED Prep classes are free.
Unlimited access to online Odysseyware curriculum 24 hours a day / 7 days a week using your personal internet based computer or laptop at home or any where you have internet access. Flexibility to work at your own pace to accommodate changing work schedules. Minimum number of lessons must be completed each week to progress skill level and earn units. No textbooks are required.
The online Odysseyware curriculum is individualized to your skill level as you progress through the program.
Classes are instructor supported during virtual office hours, via email, system messaging and via scheduled live appointment sessions. Students have the opportunity to complete a GED Practice Test as part of the class.
GED Prep classes are free.

Due to COVID 19 precautions our traditional seat time GED Prep classes will be scheduled online with distance learning to include a live broadcast via Zoom.

GED Testing
Hesperia Adult School is an approved GED Testing site.
Important info:
GED testing is by appointment only.
Register and make an appointment to take the GED Test at www.ged.com
When registering on GED.com search for test centers near zip code 92345.
Examinees must be at least 17 years and 10 months to take the GED test. Note: GED will not mail the official GED Certificate until the student is age 18.
Social distancing, health and safety guidelines are in effect at all test centers which include the use of a cloth face mask which must be worn covering both the nose and mouth while on campus, during check in and check out and while exiting campus. Hand sanitizer is provided. Stations are cleaned between sessions.
PEARSON VUE GED TEST CENTERS MAY BE TEMPORARILY CLOSED DUE TO COVID SAFETY GUIDELINES.

Classes are designed for adult students who wish to increase English literacy skills and/or prepare to take the U.S. Citizenship exam.

Students will be using their personal devices, computers, laptops or cell phones to access live instruction with Mrs. Macias during scheduled class times.
Our "Current Returning" students who were actively participating in ESL & Citizenship Prep from March - May 2020 were automatically enrolled for the fall August 2020 term. Our "Current Returning" students who are actively participating in ESL & Citizenship Prep from August - December 2020 have the opportunity to be enrolled for the Spring 2021 term. ESL
Assessments
Assessments are held in Room 6. Assessment sessions may be scheduled by appointment to meet social distancing requirements, health and safety guidelines.
Social distancing, health and safety requirements are in effect which includes social distancing, use of hand sanitizer, use of face masks covering both the nose and mouth, desk shields at each station and cleaning between sessions.
No children or guests are allowed on campus or in assessment testing sessions.
Bring a valid Identification. ESL and CASAS Assessments are free.
